A short biography
Hello. I'm Phil, one half of FireFliers.
I began making up tunes at an early age. Shortly after I became interested in recording on a tape recorder.
My formal music training began on piano when I was 8, although I really wanted to play the big bass drum!
At 12 my wish was granted and I began learning drums under the tutelage of Andy Treacey (drummer for Faithless).
I aquired the classic Korg M1 (synthesiser) when I was 16, to help compose for my music A-levels.
My musical education continued at University, studying composition, performance and recording techniques.
Lara and I first met when working in the same office in a school. We decided to work together soon after, combining my drumming and compositional abilities with Lara's vocal melodies and dancing skills.
I will try to add to my blog regularly but October is a busy month for us.
